THE ROAD HOME
(ROMANS ROAD TO SALVATION)
At Impact Church, Missions Month is more than just a theme, it’s a movement. Throughout the month of July, we’re focusing on the Great Commission by equipping our church to reach people locally and globally with the message of Jesus.
The Romans Road to Salvation is one of the simplest, clearest ways to explain the Gospel. It walks someone through why we need Jesus, what He’s done for us, and how to respond using Scripture straight from the book of Romans.
Why This Tool is So Helpful
Whether you’re leading a friend to Christ, sharing your faith at work/school or just want to be prepared when the opportunity comes this guide gives you the confidence and clarity to walk someone into a relationship with Jesus.
You don’t need to be a Bible scholar. You just need to be available and this tool helps you do the rest.

📖 Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
What happens here:
This verse brings awareness. We acknowledge that none of us are perfect we’ve all missed the mark. It introduces the need for salvation by pointing out that sin is a universal problem. What to do/say:
Ask the person: “Would you agree that you’ve made mistakes or done wrong things?”
Explain: “That’s what the Bible calls sin and all of us have sinned. You’re not alone in this.” -
📖 Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
What happens here:
This verse explains the result of sin: spiritual death and separation from God. But it also introduces hope there’s a free gift available through Jesus. What to do/say:
Explain: “Sin doesn’t just make life hard it leads to death, meaning eternal separation from God. But God offers us a way out: a free gift of eternal life through Jesus.”
Emphasize: “You don’t have to earn it, it’s a gift.” -
📖 Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
What happens here:
This verse shows God’s heart. He loves us despite our sin. Jesus died for us before we ever changed or deserved it.What to do/say:
Say: “Even when we were still in our sin, God made the first move. He sent Jesus to take your place.”
You can ask: “Isn’t it amazing that God loves you that much?” -
📖 Romans 10:9
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
What happens here:
This is the invitation to salvation. We respond by believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. What to do/say:
Ask: “Do you believe Jesus died and rose again for you?”
Then: “Would you like to confess that and invite Him into your life right now?”
Help them understand that this is a moment of surrender and faith, not perfection. -
📖 Romans 10:13
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
What happens here:
This is the assurance. No matter your past, background, or story, if you call on Jesus, you will be saved. What to do/say:
Let them know: “God promises that when you call on Him, He saves you. Right now, if you’re ready, we can pray together and begin that relationship.”
Lead them in a simple prayer (like the one below).
HOW TO RECIEVE SALVATION
ADMIT YOU ARE A SINNER, REPENT OF YOUR SINS, BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST AS GOD'S SON WHO DIED FOR YOUR SINS AND ROSE AGAIN, CONFESS HIM AS LORD OF YOUR LIFE, AND FOLLOW HIM.
“Jesus, I admit I’ve sinned and I need You. I believe You died and rose again. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life, forgive me, and lead me. I choose to follow You. Amen.”
